![]() This is the Xbox version running on an iPad Pro's aspect ratio!!ĭiverting away from marketing discussion: Pic given as an example of going through the optimizations. So they will have a way to get the display resolution and adapt on the fly with some extra work on the dev side (or allow for the PC options if coming off a PC port). Typically when streaming, you get the 16:9 ratio built for Xbox on TVs and on an iPad or phone that can leave for black bars (especially in portrait mode). ![]() Interesting!Īnother cool thing they're working on is custom resolution, very similar to PC options to adapt the screen to the device. Meaning, if your game runs dynamic 4K on XSX, but the game is being streamed, then the API would say "Hey, use 1080p rendering to fit in the direct capture streaming!" to which the game would then render at native 1080p and thus free up GPU power that can be leveraged in other quality settings. The developer suggests this can save time on avoiding scaling passes and free up resources to use towards other effects, raytracing, etc. Their new Display Details API will help developers adjust graphics settings based on whether it's a local display or streaming. The developer says as of today these are the stream qualities, but they expect it to change over time given different speeds, devices, etc.
